New Life Plastics Ltd, a joint venture between Swire Coca Cola, ALBA, and Baguio, set out to become a catalyst for change in Hong Kong’s plastic bottle circular economy. The goal was to create a cohesive, modern brand identity and a suite of communication assets to engage stakeholders, educate the public, and support the mission of giving Hong Kong’s plastic bottles a new life. An essential part of this vision was to showcase the unique strengths each partner brings to the venture and highlight the facility’s innovative approach to recycling.
Cheddar Media worked closely with Swire Coca Cola’s Sustainability team, ALBA’s Hong Kong team, and the on-ground NLP team to ensure the brand and visual communications embodied the joint venture’s combined expertise. We extended the brand identity across all assets and developed the official brand guideline to establish consistency at every touchpoint. Our team produced a comprehensive suite of media assets—including PowerPoint presentations and digital collateral—to support both internal and external communications. A central focus was bringing the NLP facility’s story to life. The facility features two advanced production lines: one for food-grade ready PET flake and another for high-quality HDPE flake. Its design incorporates state-of-the-art waste water management, solar water systems, and photovoltaic power capture, reflecting a deep commitment to sustainable innovation.
To bring the facility’s story to life, we partnered with the on-ground team at NLP to deliver environmental branding, wayfinding, and signage for the visitor centre, making the site welcoming and educational for tours. The viewing gallery was supported by clear, engaging graphics that explain how plastic waste destined for landfill is transformed into valuable raw materials for the recycled plastics manufacturing sector. Additionally, we designed and launched a responsive, user-friendly website to communicate New Life Plastics’ mission, process, and impact, and produced a corporate animated videos to visually narrate the plastic bottle recycling journey and the joint venture’s influence on Hong Kong’s sustainability landscape.

This truly collaborative effort and unified brand identity have established New Life Plastics as a leader in Hong Kong’s sustainability sector. By working hand-in-hand, the partnership harnesses Baguio’s domestic collection network, ALBA’s recycling technology expertise, and Swire Coca Cola’s deep knowledge of the beverages market, enabling the facility to process PET beverage bottles and HDPE personal care bottles at scale. Together, we developed clear guidelines and engaging media assets that have strengthened stakeholder and public communications, while the visitor centre’s environmental branding and wayfinding have enriched the educational experience for all visitors. The website and animated video, created through close teamwork, have extended the company’s influence, inspiring greater awareness of plastic recycling and circularity. United in purpose, New Life Plastics and its partners have enhanced the organisation’s reputation as an innovative, mission-driven leader dedicated to giving Hong Kong’s plastic bottles a new life.

General Manager, Sustainability
Heidi and her team have delivered on some tricky projects for me – and delivered very good results in the process. This required tenacity and cultural awareness, as on some of the technical details it was not clear on how to integrate our system to what was needed. That being said it all went well but did require a lot of effort on Heidi’s side. On the design side – all v intuitive and professional. To end this reference – Heidi and her team – are a pleasure to work with.
